P0141

O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

Medium severity Moderate to diagnose

What P0141 Means

Same fault as P0135, but on the downstream oxygen sensor (Sensor 2, located after the catalytic converter) instead of the upstream one.

Common Causes

  • Failed heater element in the downstream oxygen sensor
  • Damaged or corroded wiring/connector
  • Blown fuse for that sensor's heater circuit

Symptoms You Might Notice

  • Usually no immediate drivability symptoms
  • Check engine light on

What to Check First

  1. 1

    Check the relevant fuse first

  2. 2

Inspect the sensor's wiring and connector

  3. 3

Test heater circuit resistance and replace the sensor if the heater element has failed
