What P0106 Means
The MAP sensor, which measures intake manifold pressure to help calculate how much fuel to inject, is sending a reading that doesn't match what the engine control module expects.
Common Causes
- Vacuum leak near the MAP sensor or its hose
- Faulty MAP sensor
- Damaged or corroded wiring/connector to the sensor
- Dirty or clogged sensor port
Symptoms You Might Notice
- Rough idle
- Poor acceleration
- Check engine light on
- Reduced fuel economy
What to Check First
- 1
Inspect the vacuum hose connected to the MAP sensor for cracks or a loose fit
- 2
Check the sensor's wiring and connector for corrosion or damage
- 3
Test the sensor's output against a known-good reading; replace if out of range
